Mixed Media Text Art
K/1st graders were inspired by Jasper Johns in making these mixed media text collages! Students expressed symbolism through choosing important words, numbers, and a variety of art techniques!
Canopic Jars
After learning about how ancient Egyptians stored organs in canopic jars to protect them for the after life, each student designed a coil jar to protect something they'd like to be able to cherish forever! Students were free to use coils in any way they liked, as long as they communicated what they jar would hold.
