After reading books about trees, we made up our own storybook illustrations starring 3-d trees! Each student used a variety of materials to bring their 2-d stories to the 3-d world!
Symbolic artwork is art that tells a dream or a story using symbols(meaningful pictures) and colors. After learning about Austrian artist Gustav Klimt and critiquing some of his symbolic paintings, we used oil pastel, paper, and gold paint to tell our own symbolic stories!
Students chose to design a cityscape or landscape to share a dream world, tell a story, show the future, or teach about a important time in our history!
